Dance was the Treatment
It all started at 3 years old, when it appeared I was walking “pigeon-toed” on my Right foot. Since it wasn’t severe, no braces were needed for my leg, the Doctor prescribed Ballet Lessons. A week later I was in my 1st Ballet/Tap combo class. Who would have ever known that it would turn into my life passion.
My Story...
My relationship with Dance mirrors my relationship to life. I learned more about myself every time I stepped onto the floor. I became the person I am because of the people I met through Dance. Some of it in spite of the people I never wanted to be like. The doors it opened led me to some of the biggest highlights of my life that even when I look back I question whether they were real. My experience with dance has not been all sunshine and rainbows however, as my dreams were nearly derailed not once but twice as a teenager after two major injuries to my left and right knees both of which required major reconstructive surgery and nearly a year’s worth of rehabilitation. I could barely walk let alone dance. A positive attitude & an unkillable spirit brought me back stronger, even more determined, and dedicated. My years & experiences have left me a confident, reliable, people-oriented professional with a high degree of technical expertise and deftness. More importantly, Dance taught me to be authentically me.
